Sharing Maine...

Sharing Maine with you. That's what the crew of the Grande Caribe is doing this August while sailing the beautiful coast of Maine.

We completed our first 8 day cruise Friday and the reviews from our passengers were great!

We had mostly good weather with just the right amount of FOG and drizzle to let everyone experience the REAL MAINE. Waking up in a quaint harbor enjoying your coffee on deck while peering through the mist is great atmosphere in which to appreciate the unique lifestyle that cruisers enjoy when visiting the many out of the way snug harbors and small towns.

46 "friends" from all over the USA and Canada joined us for our first week in Maine. Prize for the farthest traveled went to the couple from Hawaii who were on their 2nd trip with ACCL and whom I enjoyed meeting last fall on a fall foliage cruise through the Erie Canal and up to Quebec. They enjoyed that trip so much they came back on the Maine Cruise because I told them how great these cruises are. They were not disappointed!

Some highlights of last week's cruise included an UP CLOSE encounter with a Minke Whale just off the cliffs at Monhegan Island on an early morning. We were close enough to hear the whale "blow" as we drifted nearby in beautiful morning light. A spectacular run up Eggemoggin Reach on a sun drenched afternoon followed by arrival in historic Castine topped off a great day that started in Bar Harbor with a tour aboard the trolley to the top of Cadillac Mountain. The LOBSTER FESTIVAL was in full swing in Rockland when we arrived there with lots to do & see including a visit to the Wyeth exhibit at the Farnsworth Art Museum...

These were just a few of many great experiences enjoyed by a great group of passengers who quickly became "friends" as we shared experiences cruising the coast of Maine.

Come and join us. You'll be glad you did.
